Branson’s Nantucket Explores Atlanta
June 30, 2010
Atlanta is the capital of the state of Georgia. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and became a household name when it hosted the 1995 Summer Olympics. The city is a financial powerhouse and plays host to some of the most powerful multinational firms in the world, including Coca-Cola and Turner Broadcasting. Atlanta covers around 132 square miles and is located on a ridge, on the southern side of the Chattahoochee River. The climate here can be described as a humid-subtropical climate. The city features hot, humid summers and relatively mild winters. The city has a more temperate climate compared to nearby regions. Like most other major cities, Atlanta is a very cosmopolitan city with people from different cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds.
Branson’s Nantucket suggests starting your tour with a visit to the Six Flags Over Georgia Theme Parks. This is one of the largest theme parks in the world and makes an excellent venue for the whole family. Another wonderful theme park is the World of Cola Adventure and features an amazing range of amusements that will certainly keep you occupied all day. If you are interested in a little wildlife, then you might want to consider the Georgia Aquarium, which is the largest in the world and features more than thrilling shows and beautiful specimens. The Atlanta Zoo is yet another venue you must see, with plenty of animals from a wide variety of species; a trip to the zoo will be both fun and informative.
Branson’s Nantucket cannot imagine a trip to Atlanta that does not include a visit to the Centennial Olympic Park. The park is an eternal testament to Atlanta’s role as host during the 1996 summer Olympics and today it serves as a featured venue for many social and cultural events, including the Fourth of July celebrations.
Branson’s Nantucket would advise anyone from being careless in Atlanta when it comes to transport. The city is quite dangerous to pedestrians and traffic is highly congested. If you are planning a trip to Atlanta, try to avoid rush hour traffic.
